USOC Evaluation Commission to Visit Chicago

 

CHICAGO (March 3, 2007) – The USOC Evaluation Commission will meet with the Chicago 2016 Exploratory Committee on March 6-7 to review the Committee’s proposals to host the Olympic Games.  As the schedule for the one-and-one-half-day meeting will be tight, the only opportunity to seek comment from the USOC will be at their news conference at the end of the meetings.  However, a number of photo ops will be available and the media will be able to follow the route of the venue tour.  Details of the availabilities are listed below.

Media to check in to obtain accreditation to follow USOC Evaluation Commission venue tour.
Due to time and space constraints only those media accredited prior to the start of the venue tour will be allowed to board bus and follow tour.  Bus must leave at appointed time.

The media bus will follow the USOC venue tour route.  Media representatives will have the opportunity to view most of the sites the USOC Evaluation Committee will review.  The tour will end at the Aon Center in time for a lunch prior to the news conferences beginning at 1:00 pm.  Transportation back to the Hilton following the Chicago 2016 news conference will be provided, if needed.

The tour will include only photo opportunities.  The Committee has limited time to make its presentations to the Commission, so the media will not have the opportunity to ask questions.

NOTE:

March 6:  For access to Soldier Field, media will need to obtain an accreditation.  Accreditations will available at Gates 14 and 16 prior to 9:00 am.

 

March 7: For access to the venue tour, media will need to obtain an accreditation.  Accreditations will be available at the bus loading zone at the 8th Street entrance of the Hilton Hotel prior to 9:15 am.
